The Climate Restoration 2050 mission is CRA’s flagship global campaign—an international grassroots effort to mobilize a critical mass of people around a clear goal:
Restoring the Earth’s climate to safe, pre-industrial conditions.

We can restore a pre-industrial climate to our planet by 2050, with CO₂ and methane levels that were safe for thousands of years.
Net-zero is essential—
but it is not enough.
To truly address Climate Restoration, we must also remove excess CO₂ and methane from the atmosphere, in order to restore the climate to pre-industrial levels.
Carbon removal is not the end goal—it is the pathway to Climate Restoration.
Before humanity began altering the atmosphere at scale, Earth’s climate was regulated by natural systems. Today, scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs are helping nature with scalable solutions to restore our climate.

The Grassroots Campaign is about people coming together in schools, universities and communities to set the goal we want—and mobilize the people and resources needed to achieve it.
Together, we can restore a safe climate by 2050—returning atmospheric conditions to levels that supported life and human civilization for thousands of years.
Our global network includes Climate Restoration Ambassadors and local leaders, artists, activists, students & educators, scientists, innovators, and partners from all walks of life. We meet globally online and collaborate across regions to accelerate impact.
